Resetting The Username And The Password Of The Netgear WiFi Router!
Reset your Netgear WiFi router only if it malfunctions and causes your Internet connection to drop statistically. You can reset the device by pressing the Factory Settings Restore button or by accessing its Web interface. Use the Factory Settings Restore button if you cannot log in to the Web interface. A reset restores all of the WiFi router's settings to default values and erases all the present customizations.
Using the web interface
Step 1:-
Open www.routerlogin.net or
www.routerlogin.com to access the Web interface. If the URLs do not open the
Web interface, then type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 into your browser's URL bar
and press Enter.
If the default IP addresses and
the URLs do not work, use Command Prompt to find the correct one IP.
1. Press Windows X button to
display the Power User menu in Windows 8.1 and select the Command Prompt to
open the utility.
2. Type ipconfig into Command
Prompt and then press Enter to obtain the detailed information about the
network.
3. Locate the WiFi router's IP
address in the Default Gateway section and use it to access the respective Web
interface.
Step 2:-
Type the username and the
password into the Username and Password fields respectively. The default
username of the Netgear WiFi routers is admin and the default password is
password or 1234.
Step 3:-
Select the backup settings from the
Maintenance section of the respective left tab and then click the Erase button
in the section of Revert to Factory Default Settings to reset the Netgear WiFi
router. Click OK button to confirm.
Using the factory settings
restore button
Most of the Netgear WiFi routers,
including WNDR3300, WNR3500, WGT624, WPN824, DGN2000 and N300, have a Factory
Settings Restore button recessed into the case, on the back of the device.
Use a paperclip to press the
Factory Settings Restore button and hold it for at least seven seconds or until
the Power LED starts to blink to reset the WiFi router. The device will restart
after the reset is completed.
